Job Purpose:

Our Recreation Specialist's ensure that customers have a fun and safe experience when they come to enjoy our sports complex by assisting the Manager On Duty (MOD) with general supervision, operations, and maintenance of the facility.  The primary purpose shall be to perform a variety of customer service related duties to facilitate our programs, along with making sure teams and organizations who have rented use of the facility have everything they need to fully use the rented space within contractual terms.  The secondary purpose shall be to maintain a clean and sanitary environment for our guests by performing general cleaning and maintenance tasks on a daily basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform tasks to facilitate programs, such as skate rental, skate guard, setting up courts, placing nets onto ice, scoreboard timekeeper, skate sharpening, ice resurfacing, or any other related tasks necessary.
• Interact with customers, both in person and over the phone.  Welcome guests entering the facility and assisting with their needs.
• Communicate professionally, both in writing and verbally to customers and staff.
• Answer phone and provide accurate answers to customer questions.
• Route calls to appropriate personnel.
• Enforce all rules regarding policies and operating procedures.
• Handle registration of facility programs.
• Receive payments and fees for facility programs and rentals.
• Accurately record payments and issues receipts.
• Accurately count down drawer and maintains cash drawer balance.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to successfully pass a drug and background screening.
• Basic computer and typing skills.
• Team oriented work ethic.
• Personable and customer service oriented.
• Sports background preferred.

Working Conditions:

Position is located in a recreation facility environment. Work may need to be performed outside or throughout the facility.

Physical Requirements:

• May require lifting up to 75lbs.
• May require sitting or standing for long periods of time.

Job Purpose:

Demonstrate proper skating and hockey techniques and perform various administrative and supervisory activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teach hockey skills to guests and lesson participants.
• Instruct participants on hockey rules and regulations.
• Accurately evaluate placements of students for hockey instruction.
• Prepare and sign all certificates and course record sheets.
• Actively recruit new skaters and lesson participants.
• Execute policies and procedures professionally and accurately.
• Educate all guests on proper and safe procedures required for ice activities.
• Effectively use customer service skills to control customer interactions.
• Communicate all information verbally and in writing to supervisors and subordinates.
• Enforce all rules regarding rink policies and operating procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patrons and staff.
• Attend scheduled staff meetings.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to successfully pass a drug and background screening.
• Advanced knowledge of hockey.
• Advanced skating skills.
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
