Figure Skating

Capital Clubhouse is the home of figure skating in Southern Maryland.  Our outstanding coaching staff guides skaters from basics through qualifying competitions and beyond.

USFS Preparatory Program is a developmental program bridging the USFS Badge Levels with the official test levels and competitive figure skating training.  In addition to polishing basics, young skaters are introduced to off-ice conditioning, goal setting, freestyle rules, and the basics of competing.   Register online NOW!

USFS Moves/Freestyle Classes serve skaters Pre-Preliminary and higher by developing finer coordination, edge quality, jump positions, and spin speed in a group context.   Register online NOW!

GLIDE INTO SPRING OPEN BASIC SKILLS AND BEYOND COMPETITION 2012

Hosted by Figure Skating Club of Southern Maryland with Capital Clubhouse Skating Academy.

Competition is at Capital Clubhouse, Saturday April 28th, 8:30-2:30pm.

This event will be approved by United Skates Figure Skating and conducted in association with United States Figure Skating rules governing Basic Skills competitions as set forth in the 2011-2012 edition of the rule book and the 2012 Basic Skills Competition Manual.

Competition levels include: Snow Plow Sam 1-3, Basic 1-8, FS 1-6, Pre-Preliminary, Preliminary. Announcement distributed March 1, 2012. Deadline for registration April 1, 2012. Mail in Registration only.

In compliance with U. S Figure Skating rules, all idividuals instructiong/coaching during a sanctioned event must be registered as a coach with U.S. Figure Skating and have completed at least Category B continuing education requirements.
